Sew a Cute Romper Pattern!

I love this romper sewing pattern. I love it so much that I’ve sewn it three times already (and that’s rare for me! Most patterns, I only sew once).

This is the Ellie and Mac South Shore Romper Pattern. It’s a PDF pattern with multiple file options – print at home, copy shop, or use a projector.

South Shore Romper Pattern Options

It has multiple pattern options. Here’s the line drawing from the Ellie and Mac Patterns website:

You can sew the South Shore Romper with:

  • No Sleeves
  • Short Sleeves
  • Long tight sleeves
  • Long Bell Sleeves

And choose your bottom length:

  • Shorts
  • Capris
  • Pants

The front is a faux wrap style which is super flattering and also very comfortable. You won’t have to worry about the front coming open. AND, it’s easy to get on and off (a great pattern to sew for breastfeeding moms too).

My DIY Rompers

Here is a summer version of the pattern. I chose to go with the tank style and shorts and made the sash. The fabric had less stretch than the designer recommended, but it still worked, just gave a slightly different look than my other rompers that you’ll see below!

Here’s another version – this one with the slim long sleeves and pants. I used a ribbed knit this time. I decided to use a contrasting band on the bodice and thought it would be cute to have the sash be the same fabric. Do you like the contrasting fabric?

This next one is my oldest South Shore Romper – back when I still had my kids take my pictures 😁. But I think you can see it okay? I actually ran out of that blue fabric and had to improvise by adding a different color across the other side. I do like how it came out though!
