Mom's Garlic Steamed Broccoli

Equipment

  • 1 Pan

Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp Oil Olive Oil, Canola, Avocado, etc
  • 2 cloves Garlic Minced
  • 2 Crowns Broccoli Chopped bite size
  • 1/2 Cup Water Plus
  • Salt and Pepper To taste

Instructions

  • Add oil to pan and set temperature to medium high
  • Once oil is hot, add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant
  • Add broccoli to pan . Stir to coat broccoli in garlic oil
  • Add water to pan, then cover and reduce heat to medium low.  Steam until broccoli is fork tender (5-10 minutes)
  • Remove lid from pan and allow broccoli edges to darken and caramelize by not stirring often. Watch it closely! You don’t want the broccoli to burn.
  • Once you see brown from the caramelizing on the bottom of the pan, add a bit of water and scrape the pan clean. Allow the water to cook off, then remove pan from heat.
  • Add salt and pepper to taste. Serve.

Notes

We love this broccoli recipe, it's easy and tastes delicious! If you want,  you can add soy sauce at the end instead of salt for a different flavor. Or add some chopped bacon to the pan with the broccoli. Enjoy!
